Abacus Claysports offers a number of packages to suit private and corporate groups requiring an hours break to a whole days entertainment.These days are available at a number of different venues in the South East including Ridgewood SG nr Reigate, and National Clays nr Woking. COACHING SHOOTS:
For private or corporate entertainment where the majority attending are novices. Packages include safety talk, provision of 12b and 20b guns and cartridges, ear defenders, winners trophy, hot or cold drinks on the field. All packages available for between 5 and 50 shooters in squads of around five per coach. By private appointment on non-club shoot days. Minumum number for these packages is 5 - smaller groups should book individual lessons under Personal Coaching - see further below.
30 TARGET SHOOT:
Duration about 2 1/2 hrs., cost £60-00 per head. Supervised round with basic instruction. 5 targets at each of 4 stands, and a two person finale on a tower or rabbit flush of 10 targets, run once for practice and once to score. All clays scored for a total.
50 TARGET SHOOT:
Duration half day- 4 hrs., cost £80-00 per head. Supervised round with basic instruction. 10 targets at each of 4 stands, and a two person finale on a tower or rabbit flush of 10 targets, run once for practice and once to score. All clays scored for a total.
75 TARGET SHOOT: with BBQ lunch served in the clubhouse.
Duration all day- 10am - 5p.m. 5-6 hrs., cost £125-00 per head. Morning; safety talk; 25 clay training round with full individual instruction, 5 targets at each of 5 stands. Lunch around 12:30 to 1:30p.m. 50 clay competition, followed by a two person finale on a tower or rabbit flush of 20 targets, run once for practice and once to score. All clays scored for a total.
Off site lunch at local Egon Ronay Country House Hotel for Ridgewood SG or local pubs by arrangement. Taxi or minibus services can be arranged from stations, hotels or other pick-ups/destinations.
Jerry Parks Young is a Clay Pigeon Shooting Association Senior Coach, member of the National Coaching Foundation, and Member of the Institute of Clay Target Shooting Instructors.
FLUSHES:
20 clay bunny, tower, or DTL flush at an extra £20-00 to finish on any package.
Mobile shoots:
By arrangement we can operate these packages on other land, and arrange all other necessary safety, insurance, and licensing, costs as above plus travel and set up charges.

The inclusive price gives the holder an accompanied 30 target sporting round at our shooting facility in Reigate , Mon-Sat. The participant is taken around a sporting layout of five or more stands by the coach in a small squad of novices. This takes about two hours. The price includes formal supervision by one of our coaches, use of 12b or 20b under and over shotgun, 30 trainer cartridges and ear defenders. A certificate of participation is included. Each extra participant up to 4 +£20, extra shots +£20 / 25 clays and cartridges.
£99-00 ADVANCED LESSON: Available as a gift voucher, (use link above) this is discipline specific / sporting clays / game warm-up / trap (ABT/DTL) or Skeet. This is a half day lesson with two hours shooting and includes 100 clays. Client provides cartridges or available @ £4-00 / 25. Extra participants £40 / head. Includes git fit and specialist gun loan if required.
THE METHOD: At the Introductory level we teach a system of aim, swing mount and analysis known as "The Method". This is the method of shooting approved by the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association, and is particularly suited to novices wishing to take up sporting shooting. We can also teach intermediates to move from gun up to gun down; and advanced techniques for trap and skeet. We can help advanced shooters to developed style and the use of analysis to increase their break ratio. We provide advice on gun fitting and gun mount, and we can provide practice and style improvement for game shooters, and pre-season warm-ups.
COMPETITION IMPROVEMENT: Jerry is an advanced coach with capability to progress shooters to the highest statndards of competition level. He does not recommend quick fix( ie single lessons) for this type of development. Progressing competition shooters should consdier full season engagements to develop their techniques. This will include goal setting, performance measuring, and other sports science aspects.
PRIVATE SHOOTS: We are happy to quote for private shoots: for experienced groups of any size, competition or practice, or novices for a fun day out, or for corporate entertainment. We can accommodate groups by appointment weekdays or weekends.
BOOKINGS: All bookings are made through Jerry Parks Young MICSI (CPSA Senior Sporting, D.T.L, and Skeet Coach; and Sporting, skeet and DTL Referee; CPSA Senior Safety Officer). Our ground holds an police exemption certificates under section 11.6 of the Firearms Act 1968, allowing unlicensed persons to shoot under our supervision. All coaching carries public liability insurance to £5,000-000.
